The Plassy
The Plassy was a steam freighter, carrying a varied load of yarn, stained glass, and whisky when it succumbed to a storm in the 1960’s. The 600-tonne ship was caught in terrible Atlantic weather, when it collided with Finnis Rock and was eventually thrown onto rocks at the eastern edge of Inis Oírr by the strong winds. The eleven crew onboard survived, all thanks to the brave and courageous islanders.
Bád lasta a bhí sa Plassy, ag iompar snáth, gloine dhaite, agus fuisce nuair a ghéill sé do stoirm sna 1960idí. Gabhadh an long 600 tonna in aimsir uafásach an Atlantaigh, nuair a bhuail sé an Finnis Rock agus sa deireadh caitheadh í ar charraigeacha ar imeall thoir Inis Oírr ag na gaotha láidre. Tháinig an t-aon chriú déag ar bord slán, a bhuíochas sin do na hoileánaigh cróga misniúla.

Teampall chaomhán
Teampall Caomhán, otherwise known as St. Caomhán’s church dating from the 10th century. St. Caomhán was brother to St. Kevin of Glendalough, and is the patron saint of Inis Oírr whose feast day is June 14th.
Tógadh Teampall Caomhán timpeall an 10ú h-aois. Deartháir ba ea Naomh Caomhán do Naomh Caoimhín, Gleann Dá Loch, agus is é pátrún Inis Oírr a bhfuil lá féasta aige ar an 14ú Meitheamh.

O'Briens castle
The castle was built , by the O'Brien (Uí Briain) family, in the early 15th century around 1400.It was taken by the Flaherty's around 1582. It was captured and slighted by Oliver Cromwell's army in 1652.
Thóg muintir Uí Bhriain an caisleán go luath sa 15ú h-aois timpeall na bliana 1400. Thóg na Flatharthaigh é timpeall 1582. Ghabh arm Oilibhéir Cromail é agus rinne sé dochair dé sa bhliain 1652.

An Teach solais
The light house was built around the 19th century. The lighthouse is located in Inis Oírr, the smallest of the Aran Islands, in County Galway. It was built in 1857. The height is 34 metres. The tower and dwellings associated with it were built of local limestone. The Lighthouse was automated in 1978.
Tógadh an teach solais timpeall an 19ú h-aois. Tá an teach solais suite in Inis Oírr, an ceann is lú de na hOileáin Árann, i gContae na Gaillimhe. Tógadh é sa bhliain 1857. Tá an airde 34 méadar. Tobar Éinne
Tobar Éinne also know as St Enda's is located near the west coast of Inis Oírr. Locals still carry out a pilgrimage called Turas to the Well of Enda. It is said that the well has healing powers and that it never runs dry. Legend has it that if you go to the well, walk around it seven times reciting the Rosary, and see an eel in the water, you will be cured of your ailments.
Tá Tobar Éinne suite in aice le cósta thiar Inis Oírr. Tá muintir na háite fós i mbun oilithreacht darb ainm Turas go dtí Tobar Éinne. Deirtear go bhfuil cumhachtaí cneasaithe ag an tobar agus nach ritheann sé tirim choíche. De réir na scéalta má théann tú go dtí an tobar, siúil timpeall air seacht n-uaire ag aithris an Phaidrín, agus go bhfeiceann tú eascann san uisce, leigheasfar do chuid tinnis thú.
